How long does process service take?

Standard process service in North Texas is typically completed within 1–5 business days, depending on the recipient's availability and location. We also offer rush and same-day service for time-sensitive legal matters.

Factors that can affect service time include incorrect address information, an evasive respondent, or remote service locations. In these cases, skip tracing may be required to locate the individual before service can be completed.

What happens if the recipient refuses to accept service?

Refusing to accept service does not prevent it from being legally completed. Under Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, our process servers can complete service in several ways even if the recipient refuses:

  • Personal Service: Documents can be left at the individual's feet or nearby if they refuse to take them.
  • Substitute Service: Documents may be left with another adult at the residence if the recipient is unavailable or refuses.
  • Posting (Nail and Mail): In some cases, documents can be posted to the door and also mailed to the address.

Our team is trained to handle evasive respondents professionally and within the bounds of Texas law.

Do you serve process outside of Texas?

Yes. While our primary service area is North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, Capulet Civil Process coordinates nationwide process service through a trusted network of licensed process servers in all 50 states.

Whether you need service in California, New York, Florida, or anywhere else in the country, we can handle the coordination on your behalf — saving you the time and hassle of finding a qualified server in an unfamiliar jurisdiction.

What is skip tracing, and when is it needed?

Skip tracing is the process of locating an individual who has moved, is hiding, or has otherwise become difficult to find. It involves searching public records, databases, social media, and other legal data sources to pinpoint a person's current address or whereabouts.

Skip tracing is typically needed when:

  • The address you have on file is outdated or incorrect
  • Multiple service attempts have failed at the known address
  • The individual appears to be intentionally evading service
  • You're trying to locate a debtor, witness, or party to a lawsuit

Capulet Civil Process uses professional skip tracing tools and techniques to locate individuals quickly and legally.

What proof of service do you provide?

After every successful service, Capulet Civil Process provides a signed, notarized Affidavit of Service (also called a Proof of Service or Return of Service). This legally admissible document includes:

  • The date, time, and location of service
  • A description of the person served
  • The method of service used
  • The process server's signature and license number

This affidavit is filed with the court as proof that proper service was completed in accordance with applicable rules.
